"Harmony Hotel is perfectly located"
Harmony Hotel is perfectly located, close to a metro station and the main railway.
Long walking distance of Tienamen Square.
Large rooms, efficient service, quiet, close to a mall.

"We'll certainly choose again this hotel "
Harmony Hotel location is excellent: 3 minutes from Beijing central station and the metro station; a big store and a post office just around the corner and some typical hutong (alleys) around.
We dined once at the restaurant in the hotel, good food and very cheap.
We'll certainly choose again this hotel the next time we'll be in Beijing.

"Harmony Hotel is really good hotel. "
Harmony Hotel is really good hotel. It is not as close to Tiananmen square as you are led to believe but the subway station is right there at your doorstep and it’s only a couple of stops away. The staff are very helpful and try their best to understand you. Two things: hope you like hard matresses and don’t mind a tiny shower.

"Good Location, very nice hotel"
Close to one of the large shopping areas. Within 30 min walk of Tiannamen Sq & Forbidden City (we are quite sporty). Hotel had very helpful staff. However, it's large and informal as you'd expect from a large chain. It did however suit our needs and we had a deal where our room was upgraded to deluxe and so was HUGE! especially in comparison to Hong Kong. When visiting attractions (leave early as better seen without the other hordes!)

"Good budget hotel. Great location for Beijing train station"
Stayed at the hotel for two nights in January at the end of my trip on the Trans-Mongolian railway. I wanted somewhere near the main train station and you can't get any nearer without being inside the station.
This is a mid range to budget hotel, so expect that level of service and standards and you will be happy with your stay. If you want more, pay more (room cost 25 pounds a night!) and stay somewhere else. The staff spoke functional English and were as helpful as they were asked to be. The front doorman seems to go walkabout in the evening, so if security is a main concern this could be an issue. While you get a room card, people are free to come and go throughout the hotel and being this close to the station there's likely more traffic than they can keep track of. Didn't try either the bar or restaurant, but the restaurant seems to close quite early.
The room was of standard size and clean. The bathroom counter and sink were nice, but the shower cubicle was more in line with hostel standards and the exposed pipes gave it a bad DIY feel.
The location really is good. There's a shop right across the street which served as an unofficial room service for getting drinks and snacks. There are a number of cheap food alternatives there as well. The Beijingzhan metro stop is around the corner and the Chongwenmen metro station is 5 minutes walk. You can walk to Tiananmen square in 25 minutes by taking a right down Beijing Zhan Xijie and following it onto Qianmen Dongdajie. Conversely you can take the Metro from Beijingzhan to Quianmen (the previous reviewer saying you have to change trains and go to Tiananmen XI is just adding stops that don't need to be made). Unless its raining I'd also say its not too much to ask to walk to and from the Wangfujing shopping area.
To find the hotel from Beijing Station:
Come out the main entrance of the station and look across the street to your left and find the building with the China Post sign on it. There is also a McDonald's visible and lots of other shops and colourful signs. Simply cross the street and walk around the left hand corner (as seen with your back to the train station) of that building and you will see the Harmony Hotel if you don't spot the sign for it first. If it helps, one of my pics is looking back towards the station from the hotel.
Airport Shuttle Bus from Beijing Station:
If you want to take the shuttle bus to the airport (runs every 15 mins, approx 1 hour and 16Y) then from the hotel cross the road as if going back into Beijing railway station, but while facing the KFC take a right down the slip road. After 100 metres you should see the shuttle buses or at least the stand where they leave from. A cheap and simple alternative to taking a taxi. From the pic I have looking at the station you can see a bus parked there. Go 100 metres right of where that bus is to find the airport shuttle.

"Great Value"
In a great location near the subway and main train station, with some great food stalls and restaurants in the surrounding streets/lanes. There is a mini -mart across the road as well as a large western style mall a block away. I am not usually a fan of eating in hotels but their restaurant is seriously good and excellent value. I am still dreaming of the fresh dumplings!
We stayed there with our 6 month old baby and they provided a cot at no charge which a lot of chinese hotels do not offer. Would definately recommend this hotel as great value for money.

"Great location & great price!"
This hotel is in a perfect location, close to the train station, local shops and restaurants, and a hutong (fun to explore). It was close enough to the Forbidden City to walk to (20 minutes away). The hotel wasn't the most charming, but it was clean and welcoming, and the rooms were a decent size. It reminded me of Holiday Inns in the USA. I would definately stay here again.

"Great location, price, restaurant"
Location is perfect if you're going to use the subway, otherwise, still good. Price was CNY 347 a night. All staff spoke some English, and the staff at the front desk were awesome. Not the fall-over-themselves service of a four star, but researched addresses, called places I wanted to find, and wrote the address for the cab drivers (don't use the ones in the parking lot of hotel, standard). Breakfast okay, was 30 Yuan one day, 20 Yuan the next. Lunch was awesome. Air conditioning was so-so, but we were only there at night so it was fine. Bathroom was standing shower stall, all toiletries there and re-supplied everyday. Mini-fridge in room. Furnishing old, but clean.
